OVERVIEW

During the pandemic, we noticed an increasing usage of our app and, with it, the willingness of our users to find their soulmates quicker and quicker. The Boost feature has existed for months in most dating apps and has already answered this visibility need for their users. We decided to bring that feature to our users to help them accelerate their dating experience in our app. The company also desired to offer an equal service to the users to align itself with all the features the competitors are offering in the market.

ROLE

This project came at the same time as a redesign of the app and a rebranding, and I faced two challenges here:

↳ The first challenge was to create the Boost feature for our users to help them get more visibility and accelerate their dating experience. Since this feature follows a redesign of the app, I have to be sure that it fits the new design.

↳ The second challenge was to symbolize this new feature with a 3D asset. When crafting this asset, I have to be sure it’s as meaningful as possible for our users and make it fit the new branding.

Design Process

In addition to our design team syncs every Wednesday, we also met with my Product Owner 2 to 3 times a week per sprint to debrief on progress updates, inquire about technical limitations with devs, and consistently align the design with the vision and expectations of the product team.

All and all, this was a very collaborative and smooth process. By the end of every sprint, we presented our work to the product team, and everyone was extremely eager to see how this feature would perform for our users and how they would find it helpful in their own experience.
